It's no secret that I'm a huge lover of all things nature and Earth. But I have a huge soft spot for waterfalls, big or small they always leave me in a state of amazement. While in Pennsylvania last week, my fiancé surprised me with a trip to Bushkill Falls. To be honest, I never heard of this place until that day. Wow was I missing out.
The main falls, as pictured above, is over 100 feet tall. There are multiple trails you can take that all lead you to the main falls, we opted for the longest trail that takes you to 8 different waterfalls before reaching the main falls. The hike consisted of a lot of stairs, which for someone who loves working out that was a huge bonus. The man-made stairs are constructed out of wood and almost blend into the landscape, giving it a fairy-tale like vibe.
For a Thursday afternoon, there were a lot more people than I initially expected to be there. But as soon as we started the trail I could see why so many people wanted to spend their afternoon here. To see the falls and do any of the trails, you had to buy a $14 entrance ticket. For some this may seem steep, but the ridiculous views and relaxing atmosphere of the waterfalls made that so beyond worth it. Everyone there comes for the same reason, for some nature therapy. So you don't have to worry about any yelling or typical sounds of populated areas.
If you want to see these beautiful falls in action, check out the vlog I posted about our trip here. Photos can only show so much, this is a place that definitely deserves a visit. Until you get there, enjoy the video!
